Meet the Meiers!
Just like people have their coffee shop, their physician, their mechanic, their hairdresser—people can have their Realtor.
But being someone’s Realtor for life has different challenges than being someone’s hairdresser for life.
The average person buys or sells a house far less frequently than they buy a cup of coffee, see their doctor, get their car serviced or get a haircut. That may be part of the reason why people use multiple Realtors over the course of their lives.
When Realtors treat real estate as transactional, existing only for the life of the purchase or sale of a home, then being someone’s Realtor for Life is nearly impossible.
But when we treat it as relational; as a friendship. When we look for opportunities to help. When we keep in touch and act as a resource. Then it becomes not just possible, but natural.
The Meiers, who recently sold their home illustrate this. I met Luke and Haley at church, and we got to know each other a bit. Sometimes we would talk about real estate, but we also had conversations that were more personal. Haley is adopted, as am I. So, some of our conversations reflected that bond.
Shortly after we met, their family started to outgrow their home. I helped them sell that townhome and purchase a beautiful house with tons of space.
Five years later, they needed to move out of state for a job opportunity. One of the blessings I’ve received in the position I am in, is to see the hand of God and favor unfold as people say yes to incredible opportunities. It requires stepping out in faith. I loved seeing things fall into place so well for the Meiers. They worked hard to prepare their home for the market. Within a week it was under contract for more than $100K over their list price!
I connected them with a great agent in Texas and they bought a beautiful home for this next chapter of their life.
I’m grateful that the Lord has used real estate as a vehicle to put me into people’s lives. As a result, I make new friends, grow as a business owner and as a person.
Thank you to the Meiers (and to the many others who have done so) for allowing us to be a part of your lives and real estate story.
